As the former Head of Planning, Ginny represented the Department at Planning Committee. Consequently, she has extensive experience of this process - which to the untrained eye can be bewildering and stressful.
Even if you haven’t engaged the services of a Planning Consultant throughout your application process, as a Chartered Town Planner Ginny can support you in any of the following scenarios:

These are known as “representations” and if you live within the vicinity of a proposed development which you object to, Ginny can represent your interests by preparing a written formal objection letter for submission to the Department. Once logded against the application, if you live within 50m of the red line (as delineated on the Location Plan) you will benefit from Third Party Appeal rights - see next section, Representation at Appeal.

Jersey Appeal Process
The Appeal process is entirely independent of the Planning Department. The process is administered by the Judicial Greffe who appoint a Planning Inspector from England who will travel to Jersey to hear the case.
First Party Appeal
If your application is refused you have the right to appeal this decision to an Independent Planning Inspector – this is known as a first party appeal. This can be a daunting process and one which Ginny can support you through as well as represent you at the formal Hearing.
Third Party Appeal
The Jersey Planning system is unique in that it also has third party appeal rights. This means that even if your application has been approved, that decision can be challenged by a third party. Again, Ginny can represent your third party interests.
